Hazardous Materials Technician Refresher

WMD Awareness Level Courses
WMD Radiological/Nuclear Awareness The course is provided by the Hawaii Department of Health, Noise, Radiation, and Indoor Air Quality Branch. WMD Operations Level Courses
Emergency Medical Services Operations and Planning for WMD PER-211 This course will be scheduled when requested by a host agency. This three-day course will prepare intermediate and advanced EMS personnel for with triage and treatment of WMD patients. Students will demonstrate triage, mass decontamination, treatement, and stabilization. Housing may be availible for neighbor island responders at a nominal cost. Public Works: Preparing for & Responding to Terrorism/WMD This course will be scheduled when requested by a host agency. Prerequisites of Basic Incident Command System and Terrorism Awareness will be offerred to those interested in Public Works Class. WMD: Defensive Operations for Emergency Responders This course will be scheduled when an agency has agreed to host the course. This 3-day course includes use of Level B personal protective equipment. Contact Ken Lesperance for course description.
WMD TCH Level Courses
Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings-Technician Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings-Technician Consult website at www.emrtc.nmt.edu/ for schedule. This four day course is a Technician Level and Train the Trainer course. Students are expected to teach the Awareness Level course to their agency upon completion of the course. All course, travel, and lodging costs for state and local personnel will be covered by EMRTC. Private sector and federal employees are responsible for all costs. WMD Incident Command Training Course/WMD Hands on Training Course WMD Incident Command Training Course/WMD Hands on Training (HOT) Course back-to-back classes. WMD Incident Command and WMD Hands on Training (HOT) Course are scheduled in a back-to-back, week long training session. This set of classes is for responders who are not Hazmat Technicians.
